I know that we doctors are supposed to be all confident and all-knowing, but we are human, too. I haven't gotten any updates on the baby, yet, but I will post as soon as I hear.

Mr. Whoo! You are the best, and I love you!

Alice~ Thank you for your kind words. I know, intellectually, that I make the best clinical decisons that I can make. Emotionally, I fear I get too involved at times. I have to maintain the professional distance!

3carnations~ It *has* been rough! Just one more weekend, then I am off for the next weekend. I'm waiting anxiously for news of the babe we had to transfer. Hopefully they are home with Mom and Dad soon!dr. whoo?https://www.blogger.com/profile/10315615480530297472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31146535.post-1160007900192684162006-10-04T20:25:00.000-04:002006-10-04T20:25:00.000-04:00I think the obgyns do the best that they can with ...I think the obgyns do the best that they can with what info they have. They say hindsight is 20/20. You know, the lady would have ended up with a csection regardless. You just tried to give her what every woman wants (well most women) and that is to birth her baby naturally. Sometimes things happen. Good thing is baby is at the best place that care of him.

Even seasoned drs (my peri has over 25 years experience) guess sometimes. When I had my daughter and I brought her in for the peri to see (I had comanaged care with my ob and peri), she said WHEW that was such a good decision to deliver you (I delivered at 35/5). I said you mean you didn't know????? Neither ever told me that they were worried sick till AFTER I had her.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31146535.post-1160009515455228722006-10-04T20:51:00.000-04:002006-10-04T20:51:00.000-04:00Dr. Whoo, I love you!Not the way lawyers love to s...Dr. Whoo, I love you!
Not the way lawyers love to sue
or the way Mountaineer Fans love to boo
more like how a car smells when it is new
or the feeling you get when you buy new shoes
Whether I'm blue or smiling the day through, my life is better because of Cindy Lou Whoo
And You.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31146535.post-1160054103365896502006-10-05T09:15:00.000-04:002006-10-05T09:15:00.000-04:00Don't be too hard on yourself. You know that babies can look ok on the monitor, and mom have no warning signs, and they still have trouble. You did your best with both of these babies.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31146535.post-1160072385266690562006-10-05T14:19:00.000-04:002006-10-05T14:19:00.000-04:00Sounds like a rough few days.
